1967 'Disappearance' of Australian PM Harold Holt Finally Solved? You Be the Judge
Supreme Court Affidavit reveals the removal of Harold Holt's body from his home out to a waiting fishing boat the night before his disappearance was reported
I have no recollection of news reports about the disappearance of Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt in 1967 but do recall my mother's suspicions about his ‘presumed’ drowning at Cheviot Beach, Victoria.
If my mother was alive today, she would be the first person I would speak to about Tim Dwyer’s ‘Holt Murder’ knockout video.
Royal Australian Navy diver Gary David Simmons’ Supreme Court Affidavit states that he engaged in several clandestine operations, including the removal of the body of then Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt from his home out to a waiting fishing boat the night before it was reported he disappeared while swimming.

Notable Comment From Cracked Actor
Thanks Tim for a very informative video series that explains the incredible treachery our politicians have been involved with. I find the biggest obstacle when I explain it to others is, "No they would not do things like that, they cannot be that evil".

Official Harold Holt Drowning Narrative
On 17 December 1967, while Holt was spending the weekend at Portsea, he and four companions decided to drive to Point Nepean to watch sailor Alec Rose pass through The Rip on his solo circumnavigation attempt.
On their way back to Portsea, Holt convinced the group to stop at remote Cheviot Beach for a swim before lunch – he had spearfished there on many previous occasions, and claimed to "know this beach like the back of my hand".
Because of the rough conditions, only one other person, Alan Stewart, joined Holt in the water. Stewart kept close to shore, but Holt swam out into deeper water and was seemingly caught up in a rip, eventually disappearing from view. One of the witnesses, Marjorie Gillespie, described it as "like a leaf being taken out [...] so quick and final". (Frame 2005)
Holt's disappearance sparked "one of the largest search operations in Australian history", but no trace of his body was ever found.

'She had watched Mr Holt continuously from the time he had entered the surf'
Sydney Morning Herald Excerpt
With Zara back in Canberra at The Lodge, Holt and Marjorie headed first to the very tip of Point Nepean, the old fort, to watch British round-the-world yachtsman Alec Rose sail his Lively Lady in to Port Phillip Bay. Trailing Holt and Gillespie in a separate car were Gillespie's daughter Vyner and two friends, Martin Simpson and Alan Stewart.
The party soon moved to Cheviot Beach, the wild "Quarantine Back Beach".
Marjorie Gillespie, interviewed later by police, said "The surf was higher than I had even seen it..."
And Alan Stewart: "I noticed that the tide was very high and the surf was very turbulent, in fact the biggest I have seen on that beach."
Martin Simpson: "I went into the water almost knee-deep and there was a fairly strong undercurrent, so I just splashed around without going in too far."
And Holt himself, according to the Gillespie party's statements to police?
"Mr Holt at this stage did mention in conversation 'I know this beach like the back of my hand' and he then went on to say how the tide was unusually high."
The heaving cove was awash with driftwood of all sizes, each of the party stated.
Regardless, clad in a pair of tight blue swimming shorts he'd donned behind a rock, the prime minister of Australia plunged right in and swam out, his progress accelerated by one of those underwater rivers, a rip.
Gillespie was the last person to see Holt alive, according to the police report.
"She had watched Mr Holt continuously from the time he had entered the surf, and she saw the water become very turbulent around him very suddenly and appeared to boil and these conditions seemed to 'swamp' on him. He was not seen again."
After decades of conspiracy theories and supposition – was it suicide, or murder, or did a Chinese submarine spirit him away? – a coroner finally found in 2005 that Harold Holt had drowned accidentally while swimming.

Re-creation of Marjorie Gillespie and Alan Stewart on the beach
Initially, Gillespie’s presence at the scene was not reported by the police. She was rumoured to have been smuggled away from the beach in the boot of a car to shield her from the public and the media. In later years Marjorie Gillespie shunned public life and rarely spoke about the tragedy.

Prime Minister Harold Holt
“Harold Holt had ambitions, but they were more for the country than for himself. He considered that Australia needed to become more independent in policy and practice, including in relation to Britain. He took pride in 'not stepping over anyone's dead body' to ascend to the position of prime minister.
Holt began work as a solicitor, but was urged by a number of acquaintances including Menzies to run for parliament, and stood for the United Australia Party (UAP) against James Scullin in the seat of Yarra in 1934. The loss was only a temporary setback, with Holt entering parliament in 1935, at just 27 years of age.”
In November 1967, in one of his last major policy statements, Holt announced the establishment of the National Gallery of Australia and the Australia Council for the Arts. The National Gallery, which did not open until 1982, was the first arts-related major infrastructure project to be funded by the federal government; previous projects had been funded by state governments or by private subscription. Holt said it would "add significantly to the cultural life of Australia and the national capital.”
